For people. For the environment. For us all.
For a future worth living in
theiner’s garten is the first certified ClimaHotel. What does that mean for our guests? Fantastic comfort with a tiny environmental footprint. In a conventional hotel, guests consume around 30 to 50 kilograms of CO2 per night, while at theiner’s garten this is only 5 kilograms! At our organic refuge, heating costs are cut and CO2 is actively reduced through an intelligent, environmentally friendly heating and cooling system in our rooms, which is integrated into the walls.
We also reduce CO2 for our culinary offer, mainly through unbeatably short transport routes: All our ingredients come directly from our garden. We also work completely biodynamically in our agriculture.
Sustainability awards
The ClimaHotel certification is awarded to hotels that actively go to exceptional lengths to ensure sustainability. Environmental, economic, and social aspects must consistently be taken into account. For its efforts, in April 2019 theiner’s garten was named the most climate-friendly hotel in the Alps and was awarded the special prize by the jury of the South Tyrolean Mobility Prize.
Your journey – naturally easy
If you want a stress-free journey to your holiday destination with public transport, we will be happy to assist you! And in Gargazon, you’ll naturally be mobile so that you can visit all the wonderful sights around theiner’s garten. For example with one of the bikes and e-bikes that are available for you to rent.
Water-rich South Tyrol supports Africa
South Tyrol is a fortunate region, as its residents and guests always have plenty of clean drinking water available. For people in Ethiopia, for example, clean water is by no means a matter of course. Without a village well, women have to walk kilometres to reach water sources that are often contaminated to be able to bring the precious resource back to their village. Together with you and South Tyrol’s Caritas, the Theiner family are supporting the construction of several wells in Ethiopia. You contribution towards the fresh spring water at theiner’s garten is used to finance wells in the Hawassa region in southern Ethiopia. Two drinking water stations in a primary school and a kindergarten are already flowing and support people in cultivating plants and preventing disease.
A heartfelt thanks to all theiner’s garten guests who make these actions possible with their support. If you would like more information about these projects, just get in touch with us. Let’s work together to create a sustainable future for all the people in the world!
